BIOGRAPHY

The Charlotte House Series welcomes Bridget O'Leary to kick off its first concert of 2019.  Bridget is an exciting young solo pianist, collaborator, teacher, and arts activist.  She is a regular performer with Classical Revolution KC (CRKC), an organization of young musicians bringing classical music to unconventional spaces including restaurants, record stores, and street corners.  Bridget is also the founder of KC Young Musicians Roundtable, an outreach series that helps young musicians develop their professional careers.  During 2015-2017 she was a member of the KC-based pop orchestra My Brothers and Sisters and has performed with the group at South by Southwest in Austin, Texas and at major festivals and venues in Kansas City.  She is on the board of Kansas City Music Teachers Association and maintains a vibrant teaching studio in Kansas City. She is the coordinator of CRKC’s Second Sundays at Vinyl Renaissance, a monthly series dedicated to laid-back classical music in a record store setting.  Bridget is also founder and manager of Fourscore, a classical crossover quartet bringing energetic arrangements of pop songs to the piano quartet format. In 2018, she became a founding member of Xiphias Trio, a clarinet, violin, piano trio based in Kansas City along with her partners Erik Hassell and Larkin Sanders.  Bridget taught applied piano at Ottawa University and served as staff accompanist.  She received her master’s degree in piano performance from the UMKC Conservatory of Music and Dance in 2012.  Currently, Bridget resides in Raleigh, North Carolina with her husband, Scott.
